Detailed Job Description:
About the Role
Following a corporate merger, we are consolidating and integrating cloud estates across AWS and Azure. We are looking for a Cloud Integration Engineer to help plan and execute the migration and unification of workloads, identities, networking, and governance across both platforms.
This is a hands-on delivery role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, can reverse-engineer an unfamiliar environment, and knows how to move production workloads without breaking them.
What You'll Do
Migration execution: Assess, plan, and migrate workloads, data, and infrastructure between AWS and Azure including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and consolidation of duplicate services.
Discovery and mapping: Inventory existing resources across both estates, document dependencies, and translate AWS service patterns to Azure equivalents (and vice versa).
Cloud operations: Operate and support day-two workloads across Azure and AWS compute, networking, storage, identity, and monitoring.
Kubernetes: Deploy, operate, and migrate containerized workloads on AKS (and EKS where applicable), including cluster configuration, upgrades, and workload onboarding.
Linux engineering: Administer, harden, and troubleshoot RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, and Alma Linux systems; support OS standardization across the merged environment.
Automation: Write Ansible playbooks and roles to standardize configuration across the combined estate and eliminate configuration drift.
CI/CD: Build and maintain pipelines in GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps to deliver infrastructure and application changes consistently across both clouds.
Documentation: Produce runbooks, migration plans, cutover procedures, and rollback strategies.
What You'll Bring
Required
5+ years in cloud engineering or cloud operations, with production experience in both Azure and AWS.
Demonstrated experience delivering cloud migrations cross-cloud, datacenterto-cloud, or post-M&A consolidation.
Hands-on Kubernetes experience, specifically AKS.
Strong Linux administration across the RHEL family (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Alma Linux).
Proven Ansible automation skills (playbooks, roles, inventories).
CI/CD delivery with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
Working knowledge of Azure Policy and AWS Config for policy-as-code governance.
Solid grasp of cloud networking (VNet/VPC, peering, VPN, ExpressRoute/Direct Connect, DNS) and IAM/RBAC models in both clouds.
Scripting in Bash and/or Python.
Preferred
Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
Experience with tenant/account consolidation, Entra ID and AWS IAM Identity Center integration, or cross-cloud identity federation.
Familiarity with migration tooling (Azure Migrate, AWS Application Migration Service, AWS DMS).
Container registry, image pipeline, and Helm experience.
Cloud certifications (Azure Administrator/Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps/Solutions Architect), CKA, RHCE.
Prior experience in M&A integration or large-scale compute/EDA environments.
Project Code: CISCLD allocation code
