We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer with 10+ years of experience delivering quality assurance for API-driven, integrated, and data-intensive applications. The role requires a strong foundation in test strategy, API and backend validation, SQL, batch and ETL testing, and end-to-end quality ownership. The successful candidate will apply appropriate tools and techniques to assess functional behavior, data integrity, system reliability, and release readiness while collaborating with product, engineering, data, business, and distributed QA teams. Availability to work from the Plano, Texas office 5 days per week is required.
Key Responsibilities
Own quality engineering activities across the SDLC, including requirements analysis, test planning, estimation, scenario design, execution, defect management, reporting, release validation, and post-deployment support.
Design and execute functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and negative tests for Java-based REST APIs connecting upstream and downstream applications.
Develop and maintain API automation using industry-standard frameworks and integrate automated suites into continuous delivery pipelines.
Perform backend and data validation using advanced SQL across enterprise relational databases, including source-to-target reconciliation, transformation-rule validation, referential integrity, and data-quality controls.
Plan and execute batch testing, including scheduled jobs, dependencies, exception handling, and reconciliation of high-volume data.
Validate data migrations and ETL workflows using appropriate migration tools, with emphasis on completeness, accuracy, transformation logic, performance, and control totals.
Conduct performance, load, stress, and scalability testing for APIs, batch processes, and data-intensive workflows using appropriate performance-testing tools.
Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines and source-control platforms to support reliable and repeatable quality checks.
Monitor application behavior, scheduled jobs, logs, interfaces, and test results using appropriate observability, scheduling, operating-system, and secure file-transfer utilities.
Manage defects from identification through closure using enterprise defect-tracking and test-management platforms, including severity assessment, evidence collection, retesting, and status communication.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and coordinate with onsite stakeholders and distributed teams to communicate quality status, risks, dependencies, and remediation actions.
Contribute reusable automation components, test-data strategies, quality metrics, and continuous improvements to the overall testing approach.

Strong API testing and automation experience using one or more modern API-testing frameworks or comparable tools.
Strong data-testing experience with enterprise relational databases, including advanced SQL for complex queries, source-to-target reconciliation, transformation validation, and data-quality verification.
Experience testing Java REST APIs and distributed application integrations using Kafka, MQ, or similar messaging technologies, including upstream and downstream data workflows, logs, and failure scenarios.
Experience validating batch processes, scheduled jobs, file-based interfaces, ETL pipelines, or large-scale data migrations.
Working knowledge of Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript for test automation and test utilities.
Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines and source-control workflows.
Proficiency with enterprise defect-tracking and test-management platforms.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery, risk-based testing and software testing best practices.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder-management, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
Experience testing high-volume batch processing and data migrations on AWS, including PostgreSQL source-to-target validation and ETL tools such as AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).
Experience in banking, financial services, wealth management, investment, portfolio-management, trading, analytics, or another regulated data environment.
Experience building maintainable API or service-level automation within a reusable test framework.
Familiarity with CI/CD, source control, observability, workload scheduling, Unix-based environments, and secure file-transfer utilities.
Experience using approved AI-assisted tools for test design, scripting, coverage analysis, or troubleshooting, with appropriate human validation of generated outputs.
