Position Requirements
We are looking for a committed and skilled onsite IT Technical Support Specialist to become part of our IT team. This position entails delivering primary technical assistance to end users while overseeing and managing the organization's IT infrastructure, which includes workstations, servers, networks, and business systems. The ideal candidate will diagnose hardware, software, and network problems, set up and configure systems and peripherals, and collaborate closely with users and operations personnel to address helpdesk inquiries, sustain system performance, and facilitate the implementation of new technology solutions in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
Required Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, managed switches, firewalls) and infrastructure components (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN); enforce security through firewall policy management, ACLs, and endpoint protection.
- Monitor network and system performance; diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues across endpoints, servers, and infrastructure layers.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and authentication across Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments, including role-based access controls (RBAC).
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows systems; manage OS imaging, application deployment, patch management, and firmware/security updates.
- Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals via hands-on and remote channels; deliver clear guidance to end users.
- Assist with server operations and virtual environment administration (Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V), including VM provisioning, resource allocation, and hypervisor maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network topology, system configurations, SOPs, and infrastructure diagrams.
- Additional job duties as assigned.
Required IT Operations & Projects
- Assist with IT asset management, inventory tracking, licensing, and warranty records.
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, hardware refresh cycles, and technology deployments.
- Coordinate with vendors and external support partners for escalated issues or advanced system maintenance.
- Promote IT security best practices and assist in security monitoring and compliance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5-years hands-on network /systems administration work experience.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
- Experience with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
- Knowledge of network security practices.
- Basic scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Security & Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
Required Education
- Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent
- Preferred Minimum: Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, and cloud services.
- Familiarity with SQL databases or experience supporting business applications and integrated systems.
- Prior support experience in a manufacturing or ERP environment.
Additional Requirements
- Will occasionally/frequently stand, walk, sit, use both hands, and carry/lift to 50 lbs.
- Responsibilities sometimes require installation/lifting of heavy equipment and use of/climbing ladders.
