We are seeking an IT Support Technician to provide technical support to clinical and administrative staff throughout the health system.
This position is responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, network connectivity, user-access, and peripheral issues in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-service focused, technically capable, and comfortable supporting users with varying levels of technical experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and basic Tier 2 technical support to healthcare employees and staff
- Troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and related peripherals
- Install, configure, deploy, and replace computers and other IT equipment
- Troubleshoot Windows operating systems and common business applications
- Assist users with password resets, account-access issues, and basic Microsoft 365 applications
- Support network connectivity, Wi-Fi, printers, and peripheral devices
- Respond to help desk tickets and document troubleshooting steps and resolutions
- Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate IT support team
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including workstation and account setup
- Maintain accurate equipment and asset records
- Follow established cybersecurity, privacy, and information-security procedures
- Provide professional technical assistance to clinical and non-clinical users
- Protect confidential patient and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA requirements
- Travel between nearby healthcare facilities may occasionally be required
- Perform other IT support duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Current HIPAA training/certificate required
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking
- Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows computers
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues logically and independently
- Ability to document work accurately in a ticketing system
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when working around patient and healthcare information
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical certificate, or coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 1+ year of help desk, desktop support, or technical support experience
- Healthcare IT experience
- Experience with Active Directory and user-account administration
