SYSTEMTEC is seeking a IT Support Technician for a on-siteopportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC.Candidate will provide frontline IT support to faculty, staff, and students in a fully on-site academic environment. The role will troubleshoot end-user technology, support classroom and audiovisual systems, assist with device deployment and maintenance, and partner with IT staff to resolve or escalate technical issues.
Required Qualifications of the IT Support Technician:
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
- Associate degree or technical certification in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge or hands-on experience supporting computers, technology, or end users.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve common computer and technology issues.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and general desktop support.
- Strong customer-service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully on-site support environment.
- Must be a current South Carolina resident; relocation is not available.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the IT Support Technician:
- Experience with Windows 10/11, macOS, Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom, networking concepts, Active Directory, Intune, Jamf, mobile devices, classroom technology, or audiovisual/conferencing systems.
Responsibilities of the IT Support Technician:
- Provide first-level technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students through in-person, remote, and service-request channels.
- Troubleshoot computers, applications, accounts, connectivity, printers, peripherals, mobile devices, and related technology.
- Set up, configure, deploy, maintain, and replace workstations and other endpoint equipment.
- Support classroom, conference-room, audiovisual, presentation, and video-conferencing technology.
- Assist with onboarding, offboarding, equipment moves, technology refreshes, inventory activities, and other IT projects.
- Document support activities, follow established procedures, collaborate with IT personnel, and escalate issues requiring advanced troubleshooting or administrative access.
Work Location: Columbia, SC — Fully On-Site.
