The IT Support Technician provides first-line technical assistance to employees, ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals eager to learn and grow in IT support while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT-related issues via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity problems.
  • Assist with user account management, password resets, and access control.
  • Perform routine system updates, backups, and maintenance tasks.
  • Document technical issues and solutions in the IT knowledge base.
  • Support IT projects, including system upgrades and deployments.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and data privacy standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1+ years of experience in technical support or help desk role.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • CompTIA A+ or similar entry-level IT certification.
  • Experience with help desk ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based telephony platforms (such as RingCentral)
