IT Support Specialist

The City of Laramie is accepting applications for a part-time IT Support Specialist position. Under direction, this position will perform a variety of entry-level support activities for the Information Technology Division.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze problems, identify solutions and implement as directed.
• Perform and monitor tasks that come through the online help desk platform and help employees over the phone on the help desk line.
• Perform hardware maintenance and repairs as directed.
• Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records.
• Respond to inquiries and complaints.
• Research information on technology and new applications.
• Establish effective relationships with computer system users, backup personnel, software/hardware vendors, city officials and the general public.
• Work on projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying)

• Exposure to computers in a classroom setting.
• Experience working with various computers at home, school, or business, etc.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver license.
• Ability to carry at least 50 lbs. and climb ladders and stairs.
