An established community banking organization is looking for a hands-on IT Support Specialist to provide onsite technology support for its Houston operation. This position will serve as a key local technology resource supporting employees, devices, user access, connectivity, telecommunications, and day-to-day IT operations.
This is not simply a ticket-routing help desk role. The person will work directly with users while also supporting device provisioning, mobile technology, network and telecom troubleshooting, patching, access reviews, vendor coordination, and broader IT projects. The role reports directly to senior technology leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot computers, mobile devices, software, and related equipment.
- Provision technology and system access for employee onboarding, changes, and offboarding.
- Support mobile-device administration, device policies, applications, and software updates.
- Maintain accurate inventories of computers, mobile devices, software, networking equipment, and telecommunications resources.
- Assist with network connectivity, WAN/LAN activities, IP telephony, and voice/data troubleshooting.
- Review patching, vulnerability, access, and security-related issues and coordinate remediation when needed.
- Work with outsourced help desk and technology vendors to resolve outstanding technical issues.
- Support IT projects, security/audit documentation, user training, and related operational initiatives.
Role Requirements- 1+ year of hands-on desktop, hardware/software, or end-user technology-support experience.
- Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, or maintaining employee technology.
- Experience supporting employee provisioning and technology onboarding/offboarding.
- Exposure to telephone equipment or IP telephony support.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues directly and coordinate effectively with outside support partners.
- Strong organization and ability to manage multiple support priorities.
- Ability to work onsite in Houston 5 days per week.
- Willingness to provide occasional after-hours support and travel to other locations when necessary.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE- MDM administration.
- WAN/LAN troubleshooting.
- Patch or vulnerability-management exposure.
- User-access reviews or access administration.
- Banking, financial-services, or regulated-industry support experience.
