IT Support Specialist


Location: Dallas, TX 75220. This is a full-time, in-office position in northwest Dallas. Candidates must be able to commute Monday through Friday reliably.

Ed Bell Investments, Inc. is the umbrella company of Ed Bell Construction Company (EBCC), Construction Equipment Parts, Inc. (CEPI), and Equipment Storage Services (ESS). Together, these companies operate across highway construction, mixer truck/plant sales, and shipping container transit/storage services. 


Our IT department supports all three companies with equal priority. From keeping sales teams operational to supporting construction and administrative teams, our technology professionals play an important role in keeping each business running efficiently 


Ed Bell Investments, Inc. is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical support across all three companies. Working as part of a small IT department, you will respond to support requests, troubleshoot technology problems, prepare and deploy equipment, manage user access, and help employees use their systems effectively.


This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, communicating with users, and taking ownership of assignments without needing constant direction. Because the department is small and business needs can shift quickly, the successful candidate must be organized, self-motivated, and comfortable prioritizing requests based on urgency and operational impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employee IT support requests involving hardware, software, connectivity, user access, business applications, and related technical issues.
  • Install, configure, prepare, deploy, maintain, and replace computers, mobile devices, peripheral equipment, and other workplace technology. 
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests, equipment assignments, repairs, configurations, and completed work.
  • Communicate clearly, patiently, and professionally with employees of varying technical experience, keeping users informed throughout the support process.
  • Perform routine updates, maintenance, and equipment checks to help prevent avoidable disruptions.
  • Coordinate with other IT team members or outside vendors when an issue requires additional expertise or support.
  • Prioritize multiple requests based on business impact and urgency and follow issues through to complete resolution.
  • Identify recurring problems and recommend practical improvements to internal IT processes.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling employee, company, and system information.
  • Complete day-to-day responsibilities independently while supporting the needs of Ed Bell Construction Company, Construction Equipment Parts, Inc., and Equipment Storage Services.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, computer repair, or a related technical position is preferred.
  • Relevant technical education, training, certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Working knowledge of computers, mobile devices, operating systems, common business software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose technical problems, research possible solutions, and complete troubleshooting in a logical manner.
  • Experience preparing, configuring, deploying, or maintaining workplace technology.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical information clearly to nontechnical users.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage support tickets and competing priorities without losing track of follow-up items.
  • Self-motivated work style with the ability to remain productive without continuous supervision.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to commute reliably to the Dallas office.
  • Willingness to learn new systems, tools, and procedures as the needs of the organization evolve.
  • Ability to safely move and install typical office technology equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish a plus

Pay and Benefits

  • Full-time, W-2, nonexempt position.
  • Pay: $25 to $35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Paid weekly.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., in-office. 
  • Benefits offered: Medical insurance with company contribution toward employee premiums, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, and Flexible Spending Account options. Employee contributions may apply depending on the benefit selected. .
  • Paid time off provided according to company policy.
