A growing managed services provider is hiring a Level 1 / Level 2 IT Support Technician to support small and mid-sized business clients across Long Island. This role is ideal for someone with strong desktop support fundamentals who wants hands-on exposure to broader systems administration, networking, Microsoft 365, and client-facing MSP support.
The position starts onsite for training and mentorship, then transitions to a mostly remote structure with occasional onsite visits for break/fix, deployments, office moves, and project work. You will support a wide range of client environments and gain practical experience beyond a traditional help desk queue.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide phone, remote, and occasional onsite support for end users across multiple client environments.
- Troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, connectivity issues, and software problems.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, including users, email, permissions, and SharePoint support.
- Support user onboarding, file shares, access requests, basic server administration, and Group Policy tasks.
- Help configure and deploy PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, and related endpoint equipment.
- Assist with network troubleshooting involving Wi-Fi, routers, switches, DNS, DHCP, and basic firewall concepts.
- Document tickets, resolutions, and client environment details clearly and consistently.
- Participate in project work such as office moves, build-outs, hardware deployments, and system upgrades.
QUALIFICATIONS- 1-3+ years of IT support experience, ideally in an MSP or multi-site support environment.
- Strong Windows 10/11 desktop troubleshooting skills.
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration and support experience.
- Basic networking knowledge across TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, and Wi-Fi.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple issues, prioritize effectively, and maintain ownership through resolution.
- Professional presentation and comfort interacting directly with business clients.
- Valid driver s license and reliable transportation for occasional onsite visits.
- Willingness to train onsite before moving into a mostly remote support model.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE- Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, file shares, and permissions experience.
- RMM or PSA tool exposure.
- Experience with endpoint security, backup tools, or remote monitoring platforms.
- Scripting or automation interest.
- Experience supporting handheld scanners or similar business devices.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications.
