Responsibilities:
Assist other Engineers in creating comprehensive technology platform solution designs that meet business solution requirements on IT projects.
Apply knowledge of IT standards, service offerings, and operational options to aid in developing an implementation approach of technology solution alternatives.
Ensure that the physical design and configuration of the delivered solutions align with the logical design.
Promote the development and reuse of common solutions, components, and services.
Collaborate with domain-specific Engineers, Architects, Product Specialists, System Design Engineers, and technologists to complete IT deliverables.
Work with other engineers, architects, and product specialists to ensure that products and components work together to meet objectives and performance goals as defined in the requirements.
Assist with buy vs. build decisions, business requirements impact analysis, refinement of early-phase project estimates which contribute to the business case, and implementation level design.
Provide support for Solution Engineering design decisions during plan, analyze, design, build, test, and deploy phases of IT projects.
Requirements:
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor's degree.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other job-related certification.
IT engineering design and/or technical project implementation experience.
Project Management IT experience.
Ability to quickly learn and understand a core business area of a utility and how technology plays a key enabler/support role.
Ability to quickly learn process design, information modeling, or system architecture within a core business area of a utility.
Ability to quickly develop an understanding of the Solution Engineering discipline, processes, concepts, and best practices.
Exposure to a process improvement discipline (e.g., Six Sigma) used within a technology-supported business process implementation.
