Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a IT Security Operations Analyst - remote to join our team at our clients site in Oakland, CA.
Position Details:
Duties:
Monitor security tools and related inputs for alerts / potential security events, including AWS security monitoring tools, SIEM alerts, security operations email inbox, and security group requests / incidents in our ticketing system. Administer and maintain one or more security related services (SIEM, vulnerability management, threat detection, phishing, DLP, etc.); including patching, configuration changes, troubleshooting, and responding to customer requests
Perform security incident detection, response, containment, resolution, and recovery activities as assigned including ticket management, security event analysis, data collection, packet analysis, and etc.
Analyze, report, and resolve as appropriate the findings from vulnerability scans, and penetration tests.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Required Skills / Experience:
3 or more years of experience working on an IT security operations / incident response team in an analyst / engineer / systems administrator or related role
Knowledge of security best practices across multiple platforms, including Linux, Windows, VMWare, and Cisco IOS
Strong knowledge of client and server operating system security tools, capabilities, configurations, logging, and patching, including Windows, Linux, and MacOS.
Working knowledge of public-key cryptography, including best practices and technologies for
protecting data at rest and in transit
Direct experience with information technology incident response, including incident
management, security event analysis, packet analysis, security
Creating and maintaining thorough and technical security documentation for IT systems,
architecture, and environments
Committed to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to manage multiple concurrent work
assignments
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, including the ability to
communicate security risks to both IT administrators and non-technical staff.
Excellent analytical, design, and organizational skills, with strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities.
Preferred Skills / Experience:
Deep forensic / security incident response analysis of complex business systems required
Experience using AI as an engineering tool to help with data analysis preferred
Background / education in data science preferred
Bachelors degree from an accredited university in CS, IT, CIS, or a computer related field is
desired. Professional certifications (CISSP, Security+, CCNA, etc.) will weigh in the candidates
favor.
Strong scripting abilities (PowerShell / Python / Bash / Perl / etc.)
Working knowledge of security audit processes and related expectations
