IT - SCDHHS - Security Architect - Consultant

Location: Remote

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer / Azure Architect to lead cloud infrastructure operations, engineering, security, and modernization initiatives. This role will support enterprise infrastructure and networking environments with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, architecture, security, compliance, and cloud migration efforts. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Azure administration, cloud architecture, cloud security, hybrid infrastructure, and enterprise networking.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise cloud infrastructure solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure.
• Lead technical architecture discussions involving cloud security, compliance, privacy, governance, and infrastructure modernization.
• Develop cloud architecture standards, best practices, and technical recommendations.
• Support migration of on-premises applications, systems, and services into Azure cloud environments.
• Design and support highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and make recommendations for future adoption.
• Administer and support Azure platform services and cloud infrastructure resources.
• Manage Azure resource groups, networking, compute, storage, monitoring, and security services.
• Support enterprise infrastructure operations across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Monitor system performance, availability, security, and operational health.
• Lead cloud security initiatives and support enterprise compliance requirements.
• Manage cloud firewalls, network security controls, Key Vault, identity management, and access controls.
• Support disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and resiliency initiatives.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineering and architecture teams.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, and application teams.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.

• Extensive experience supporting:

• Azure Security Services

• Firewalls

• Key Vault

• Service Bus

• Azure Site Recovery (ASR)

• Azure Networking

• Operational Monitoring Services (OMS)

• Blob Storage

• Resource Groups

• Network Security Groups (NSGs)

• Application Insights

• SQL Server and Azure SQL Database

• Load Balancers

• 5+ years of AWS cloud platform experience, including cloud administration, cloud architecture, resource allocation and optimization, security, and network connectivity.

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and enterprise operations.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading migrations from on-premises environments to cloud-based solutions.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with enterprise cloud transformation and modernization initiatives.
• Experience developing cloud governance, security, and operational standards.

Required Certifications

One or more of the following Microsoft certifications:

• Microsoft Azure Certifications
• Azure Administrator Associate
• Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
• Identity and Access Administrator Associate
• Security Operations Analyst Associate
• Azure Security Administrator Associate
