Job Title: Senior AI Security Risk Assessment Consultant

Location: Chicago, IL (Preferred)

Job Type: W2 Contract

Expected Hours per Week: 40 hours

Schedule: Hybrid, 1-2 days onsite per week preferred

Pay Range: $50 - $55 per hour

Job Description: The Senior AI Security Risk Assessment Consultant will lead security-focused risk assessments for Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives across the enterprise. This role is responsible for evaluating AI use cases, Generative AI solutions, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, and third-party AI platforms to identify security, privacy, compliance, technology, and operational risks. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in cybersecurity and technology risk management, along with experience assessing emerging AI technologies and communicating risk findings to both technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct AI security and technology risk assessments for enterprise AI initiatives and business use cases.
• Evaluate risks associated with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, machine learning solutions, and third-party AI service providers.
• Assess the design and effectiveness of security, privacy, governance, and risk management controls implemented within AI solutions.
• Identify and evaluate AI-specific threats, including prompt injection, data leakage, model manipulation, insecure integrations, training data exposure, and other emerging AI-related risks.
• Facilitate risk assessment workshops with business, technology, security, governance, and risk stakeholders.
• Document risk findings, control gaps, mitigation recommendations, risk ratings, and executive-level summaries.
• Support AI Governance reviews by providing risk and control assessments for proposed AI use cases.
• Monitor emerging AI risks, threat trends, and regulatory developments to ensure risk assessments remain aligned with industry standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the secure and responsible adoption of AI technologies.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Technology Risk Management, Cyber Risk Management, or a related field.
• Experience performing security risk assessments, control assessments, technology risk reviews, or governance evaluations.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, and common AI security risks.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity controls, risk management methodologies, and governance frameworks.
• Ability to analyze complex technology solutions and communicate risks effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent written communication, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Insurance, Financial Services, Banking, or other highly regulated industries.
• Familiarity with NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF), NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), MITRE ATLAS, OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, and AI threat modeling practices.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CRISC, CGRC, CISA, CISM, or AIGP.
• Experience supporting AI governance, responsible AI, or enterprise AI adoption programs.
