Responsibilities:
Manage one or more complex projects concurrently with defined start and end dates, scope, budget, resources, and performance objectives.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge and technical competence impacting department goals.
Act as a team lead or coach to developing employees.
Gather, define, and document project requirements.
Define and communicate roles, responsibilities, and expectations for all project team members.
Plan all associated work independently to meet project goals.
Provide direction and leadership to project management analysts and schedulers.
Develop metrics, procedures, objectives, and methods to assess project progress using established standards and quality objectives.
Conduct project kick-off meetings and communicate individual project roles and expectations.
Ensure all project team members have the necessary tools and training.
Record, track, and communicate issues, risks, changes, and status reports using standard tools.
Accurately forecast project resource, material, and contract costs.
Drive all project-related tasks to completion.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and work plans.
Monitor critical project milestones and resolve schedule issues.
Coordinate required contract work within defined policy.
Assess project performance and implement changes to stay within cost, schedule, scope, and quality objectives.
Communicate project status to stakeholders and management.
Maintain a productive working relationship with project sponsors, vendors, and key clients.
Resolve project-specific problems within procedural guidelines.
Prepare project documentation for closure, storage, and possible auditing, ensuring technical accuracy.
Function in a process-oriented environment.
Requirements:
BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 8 years of experience managing complex IT product/software development cycles/projects.
Experience with IT professional service agreements and materials logistics.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.
Preferred Skills:
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent.
Experience working in a PMO environment as Project Lead or Project Manager for highly complex projects.
Certification from an accredited program (e.g., Stanford Advanced Project Management Certificate Program).
Advanced understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
Understanding of business and IT strategies and objectives.
Workforce planning and resource management skills.
Ability to manage in a matrixed environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in negotiation and risk management.
