Work Model: Hybrid – Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday onsite; Monday & Friday remote, with onsite work as needed

Job Summary
We are seeking an IT Project Manager to support the Medicare PMO. The Project Manager will lead multiple IT-related work efforts from project initiation through final business acceptance and implementation.
The role will work closely with customers, project teams, vendors, and management to plan, schedule, monitor, and implement solutions that meet business requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong communication, leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate IT projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from inception through completion and implementation.
  • Develop and monitor project plans, risk management plans, schedules, and project documentation.
  • Track project milestones, assignments, timelines, scope, budget, risks, and resources.
  • Monitor project activities and provide regular status reporting to stakeholders and management.
  • Identify and manage project issues, risks, scope changes, resource requirements, and timeline impacts.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, communications, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Work with customers, project teams, vendors, and management to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Ensure resources are appropriately assigned and project hours remain within budget.
  • Manage project documentation and deliverables in accordance with established project management standards.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Resolve problems and conflicts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate the impact of project changes to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and ensure successful project completion and business acceptance.

  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to negotiate terms and scope-of-work documents.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver formal presentations.
  • Ability to manage projects from inception through completion.
  • Demonstrated strategic-thinking skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in any major, OR
  • 4 years of job-related work experience, OR
  • 2 years of job-related experience plus an Associate's degree in any major.
Required Experience
  • 3+ years of IT experience in a leadership capacity on one or more project teams.
  • Completion of the BCBSSC Training Program for Project Management may substitute for 1 year of required experience.
Preferred
  • PMP certification is a plus but not required.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple IT-related efforts supporting the Medicare line of business.
  • Work with customers, project teams, vendors, and management to plan and implement solutions.
  • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Schedule and lead project meetings.
  • Report project status to stakeholders at various levels.
  • Create and maintain project documentation.
  • Monitor project schedules, resources, risks, issues, and deliverables.
  • Provide ongoing problem-solving and issue resolution.
Team Environment
The Medicare PMO consists of project managers and contractors who work independently while maintaining a collaborative team environment. The team follows a hybrid schedule, with onsite work Tuesday through Thursday and remote work Monday and Friday.
