IT Project Manager

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a global professional services firm, for an experienced IT Project Manager to join their Chicago team on a hybrid basis. This is an opportunity to lead high-visibility technology initiatives for a firm with an international footprint, partnering with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to deliver projects that directly support enterprise growth and operational excellence.

Day to day, you will juggle multiple concurrent workstreams, translate business requirements into actionable project plans, and keep a mix of technical and non-technical stakeholders aligned on scope, budget, and timeline. Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects from initiation through closeout
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and vendors
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies proactively
• Facilitate status meetings, steering committee updates, and stakeholder reviews
• Manage project scope and change control processes
• Track and report on project KPIs, milestones, and financial performance
• Ensure projects adhere to internal governance and quality standards
• Support resource planning and allocation across concurrent initiatives
• Drive post-implementation reviews and document lessons learned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field
• 5 or more years of experience managing IT projects
• PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred
• Strong working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
• Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Smartsheet
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working with global or distributed teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
