IT Operations & Systems Monitoring Analyst
Location: Livingston Plaza, Downtown Brooklyn, NY

Schedule: 24x7 Operations – Overnight and Weekend Coverage
Pay Rate: $70 per hour
Important Schedule Information
- Initial Training: 4–6 weeks
- Training Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
- After successful completion of training, the candidate will transition to the 3rd shift: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM.
- Regular Days Off: Thursday night into Friday and Friday night into Saturday.
- The regular schedule will include overnight shifts and weekends.
- This is a 100% onsite, in-person position.
- Primary work location is Downtown Brooklyn, with occasional travel to other field locations within the region.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Operations & Systems Monitoring Analyst to join a 24x7 operations team responsible for monitoring and supporting critical IT infrastructure, hardware, software, databases, and facility systems across a large enterprise environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in IT operations, systems monitoring, incident management, alert monitoring, troubleshooting, and scripted job execution across Windows, Linux, and AS/400 environments.
The position will also support the configuration and optimization of system alarms and alerts to reduce unnecessary notifications and ensure critical alerts are properly routed to the appropriate technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor critical hardware, software, server, database, and facility systems across multiple locations.
- Monitor system alerts related to CPU, memory, disk/space utilization, server health, temperature, and hardware conditions.
- Monitor Oracle and SQL databases, servers, and related infrastructure.
- Monitor and troubleshoot APC NetBotz devices, HP servers, and facility monitoring systems.
- Review, configure, and optimize alarms and alerts to reduce nuisance alerts/“white noise”.
- Ensure critical alerts are properly identified, documented, and escalated to the appropriate technical teams.
- Open and manage incident/service tickets when issues are identified.
- Assist System Administrators and other technical teams with troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Execute pre-written scripts and operational jobs across Windows, Linux, and AS/400 environments.
- Perform routine operational checks and follow established monitoring and escalation procedures.
- Assist with developing and improving tools used to monitor the health of critical systems.
- Support monitoring of SQL and Oracle databases and infrastructure hardware.
- Document incidents, operational activities, system issues, and resolutions.
- Communicate clearly with technical teams and stakeholders through phone, email, and ticketing systems.
- Coordinate with IT facility managers and technical teams across multiple locations.
- Travel to field locations within the region and work at remote sites for extended periods when required.
- Assist with the selection, installation, configuration, and upgrade of field hardware when needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to monitoring, alerting, and IT operations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in IT Operations, Systems Monitoring, Network Operations, Data Center Operations, or a similar environment.
- Experience working in a 24x7 operations or production support environment.
- Experience monitoring servers, databases, hardware, applications, or facility systems.
- Experience with Windows and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with AS/400 environments is preferred.
- Experience with incident/ticket management and escalation procedures.
- Ability to execute and monitor pre-written scripts and scheduled operational jobs.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and/or Oracle databases.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams by phone and email.
- Ability to work independently while following established operational procedures.
- Ability and willingness to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and rotating 24x7 coverage.
- Ability and willingness to work 100% onsite.
- Ability to travel to field locations when required.

- Experience supporting large enterprise or multi-site IT environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and alert-management platforms.
- Experience working with Windows, Linux, and AS/400 systems.

Work Environment & Schedule
This position is part of a 24x7 IT Operations team and requires flexibility to work outside standard business hours.
Training Period:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM for approximately 4–6 weeks.
Regular Schedule After Training:
11:00 PM–7:00 AM, including weekends.
Regular Days Off:
- Thursday night into Friday
- Friday night into Saturday
The position is 100% onsite with the primary work location in Downtown Brooklyn. Occasional travel to other locations and field facilities within the region may be required.
Candidates must be comfortable with overnight work, weekend coverage, onsite work, and travel to field locations when required.
