Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Systems Administration
- Administer, patch, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file and print services
- Manage virtualization infrastructure (e.g., VMware or Hyper-V), including host health, capacity, and VM lifecycle
- Own backup and recovery operations, including job monitoring, restore testing, and retention compliance
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; respond to and resolve incidents
- Manage endpoint configuration, patching, and compliance through tools such as Intune or equivalent
- Maintain accurate asset inventory, system documentation, and configuration records
Microsoft 365 and Azure Administration
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams
- Manage Entra ID (Azure AD), including user lifecycle, groups, conditional access, and multi-factor authentication
- Administer Azure resources, including subscriptions, resource groups, role-based access, and cost monitoring
- Configure and maintain Microsoft security and compliance tooling (e.g., Defender, Purview, data loss prevention, retention policies) as licensed
- Manage licensing and optimize M365 and Azure spend
Networking
- Support and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructure across the main office and branch locations
- Administer firewalls, switches, VPN, and remote access solutions, including rule reviews and change documentation
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues and coordinate with carriers and managed service providers
- Maintain network diagrams and support network segmentation and security control
Information Security and Compliance Support
- Implement and maintain security controls aligned with GLBA, FFIEC guidance, and the bank's information security program
- Execute user access provisioning, deprovisioning, and periodic access reviews
- Remediate vulnerability scan and penetration test findings within defined timeframes
- Provide evidence and documentation to support IT audits, regulatory examinations, and the Information Security Officer
- Participate in incident response activities and support business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing
IT Policies, Standards, and SOPs
- Draft, update, and maintain IT policies, standards, and procedures in coordination with IT leadership, the Information Security Officer, and Compliance
- Write clear, repeatable SOPs for recurring operational tasks (e.g., onboarding and offboarding, patching, backup verification, change management)
- Support the change management process, including documenting, reviewing, and scheduling changes
- Keep documentation current and aligned with annual policy review cycles and examination expectations
Core Banking Backup Support (Jack Henry SilverLake)
- Serve as the backup resource for the Jack Henry SilverLake core banking platform in the absence of the primary core administrator
- Monitor and support nightly and end-of-day processing, and escalate issues appropriately
- Perform SilverLake user administration, including security profile maintenance and access changes, following approved procedures
- Open, track, and coordinate support cases with Jack Henry and communicate status to business stakeholders
- Support related Jack Henry applications and interfaces as needed (e.g., Synergy imaging, Xperience, and third-party integrations)
- Maintain core-related runbooks and cross-training documentation
Vendor and Operational Support
- Serve as the escalation point and back up for desktop support and help desk issues
- Coordinate with managed service providers, software vendors, and hardware suppliers
- Support third-party risk management by providing technical input on vendor due diligence
- Participate in technology projects, upgrades, and migrations
- Participate in an after-hours and on-call rotation, including scheduled maintenance windows
Supervision of Personnel
- No direct supervisory responsibilities unless assigned. May provide technical guidance, peer review, cross-training, and work coordination.
Travel
- Limited travel may be required to branch locations.
Working Conditions
- Primarily performed in a regular office environment at the Maitland location with prolonged computer use. Flexible location or hours may be permitted. Evening or weekend work may be required for critical processing, releases, implementations, or incidents.
Qualifications Summary
Education
- Associate's degree in a related technology field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Experience
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 3 years in a systems administration or infrastructure role
- Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy
- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
- Working knowledge of Azure administration
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPN, wireless)
- Experience with backup, recovery, and virtualization platforms
- Demonstrated ability to write clear technical documentation, procedures, and policies
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a small team
Knowledge & Skills:
- Experience in a bank, credit union, or other regulated financial institution
- Familiarity with FFIEC IT Examination Handbook, GLBA, and related regulatory expectations
- Experience with Jack Henry SilverLake or another core banking platform (Fiserv, FIS, CSI)
- Familiarity with IBM i (AS/400) concepts
- Experience with Intune, Defender for Endpoint, and Microsoft Purview
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
- Experience supporting IT audits and regulatory examinations
- Demonstrated ability to write clear technical documentation, procedures, and policies
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a small team
- Ownership and accountability for outcomes
- Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical staff
- Attention to detail and commitment to documentation
- Discretion with confidential and nonpublic customer information
- Prioritization and time management across operational and project work
