    Description

    IT Operations Engineer needed for a 2-3 Month Contract in Mt. Laurel, NJ working remote.

    Work Hours: Friday Tuesday, 11:00PM 8:00AM EST!

    Our client is looking for an IT Operations Engineer to support a high-profile client in the professional sports industry. You will help ensure the stability and performance of critical IT infrastructure across network, server, and virtualization environments, including game-day operations.

    This is a shift-based, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, communicates clearly, and takes pride in keeping systems running smoothly through the night.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Monitor network circuits and coordinate with vendors to resolve service issues.
    • Troubleshoot network switch issues at Layer 1 and Layer 2 using Cisco CLI.
    • Support and troubleshoot wireless access points.
    • Administer Windows Server environments including routine maintenance and configuration.
    • Manage server patching via WSUS; apply security patches across servers and network devices.
    • Perform vulnerability remediation including server registry edits for specific mitigations.
    • Manage virtual machines via VMware vCenter (no ESXi configuration management required).
    • Perform and verify backups using Rubrik or equivalent backup platforms.
    • Monitor infrastructure health and availability using SolarWinds.
    • Perform Active Directory administration and basic troubleshooting.
    • Communicate clearly with business owners regarding issues, impact, and resolution steps.
    • Execute thorough shift handoff communications with oncoming team members.
    • Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks effectively throughout each shift.
    Required Skills & Experience
    • Circuit Monitoring, monitor circuits and work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve service issues.
    • Network Switches, Layer 1 and Layer 2 troubleshooting; hands-on Cisco CLI experience required.
    • Wireless, Troubleshoot wireless access points (Client) and resolve connectivity issues.
    Server & Systems Admin
    • Server Admin, Windows Server administration routine configuration, maintenance, and support.
    • Patching, WSUS experience for deploying and managing server patches in an enterprise environment.
    • Vuln. Management, Patch servers and network devices; perform registry edits for vulnerability remediation.
    • Virtualization, VMware vCenter for VM management. No ESXi configuration management required.
    • Backup, Exposure to backup platforms; Rubrik experience preferred.
    • Active Directory, Base knowledge of AD management and troubleshooting.
    • Monitoring, Manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously across the shift.
    Qualifications
    • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience.
    • Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or CCNA a plus not required.
    • Experience: Background supporting IT infrastructure in a professional environment.
    • Availability: Must work the assigned overnight shift including holidays when games are scheduled
