Join Barrow Wise Consulting, LLC today.Responsibilities: The IT Mission Analyst will support Barrow Wise's DOJ project and perform the following duties:Assess the efficiency of business procedures by examining internal controls, documentation standards, data quality management, and compliance activities. Identify weaknesses in controls, governance deficiencies, and risks that could impact operational effectiveness or regulatory adherence. Review IT operations, including infrastructure, core technologies, application development, customer support, dashboard reporting, project management, and compliance with industry and federal standards. Conduct structured interviews with IT executives, business stakeholders, and operational teams. Examine policies, SOPs, architecture files, inventories, SLAs, PPM artifacts, dashboards, performance reports, and past audit results. Perform basic technical evaluations of monitoring systems, configurations, ITSM solutions, and PPM tools as permitted. Analyze operational and project metrics, such as incident rates, resolution times, change success, project delivery, and dashboard engagement.Assessment of internal control mechanisms, documentation standards, data verification procedures, and compliance oversight activities.Detection of control deficiencies, governance shortcomings, and risks that impact operational effectiveness or regulatory adherence. Review of IT functions and infrastructure, core technologies and platforms, application development and deployment, customer support/help desk, dashboard analytics, project and portfolio management, and compliance with best practices and federal standards. Conduct structured interviews with IT executives, business stakeholders, and operations teams.Examine policies, SOPs, architecture diagrams, inventories, SLAs, PPM artifacts, dashboards, performance metrics, and previous audit reports. Perform lightweight technical assessments of monitoring tools, configurations, ITSM systems, and PPM software as appropriate and authorized. Analyze operational and project performance indicators, including incident counts, resolution durations, change success rates, project execution, and dashboard utilization. Evaluate maturity levels, identify strengths and weaknesses, and document root causes across personnel, processes, tools, governance, and organizational culture. Develop findings, suggestions, and a prioritized plan for enhancements. Prepare executive summaries, working materials, and final audit documentation.Support optional implementation planning, KPI development, and coaching for ITIL, data storytelling, and PPM practices.Collaborate with client teams onsite or remotely as needed, including coordination with federal stakeholders. Attend meetings in person in the DC AreaAn ideal candidate has the following:U.S. Citizenship, MD/DC/VA resident preferredBachelor's degree in a related fieldCertified in Lean Six Sigma, Prosci Change Management, Business Analysis (CBAP)7+ years of experience supporting federal agencies or defense organizations within:Strategic planning, enterprise architecture, and performance metricsCloud modernization, cybersecurity, or data platform assessmentsDevSecOps or application delivery evaluationService management / ITSM process reviewDashboard reporting, analytics, or data governanceBackground in IT audit, IT operations assessment, or federal consultingFamiliarity with federal governance and compliance frameworks such as FITARA, OMB A-11/A-130, FISMA, TIC 3.0, FedRAMP, Section 508, and Zero TrustWorking knowledge of NIST, ITIL, PMI, and GAO best practicesExperience reviewing IT operations, infrastructure, application delivery, help desk services, reporting, or PPM functionsStrong analytical, writing, and presentation skillsAbility to synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendationsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.Join the team at Barrow Wise Consulting, LLC, for a fulfilling and engaging experience!
