    Description

    Field Technology Manager

Our client runs a multi-location operation and is adding a hands-on technology leader to keep its site systems running and improve them over time. This role sits between the IT team and the people who work at the locations. You'll lead a small support team and still get your hands dirty when a site is down.

    What you'll work on
    • Lead and develop a team of IT support staff. Set priorities, coach on troubleshooting, and keep response times tight.
    • Be the escalation point for site technology issues: POS, payment devices, local networks, and the applications on-site managers use every day.
    • Keep transaction data flowing cleanly from the locations to the back-office and reporting systems.
    • Plan and run technology projects: new installs, hardware refreshes, software rollouts, and configuration changes.
    • Own day-to-day relationships with technology providers and hold them to their commitments.
    • Partner with operations leaders to find friction in daily workflows and fix it with better tools or configuration.
    • Maintain security and PCI practices across site environments.
    • Travel to locations for installations, site issues, and hands-on support.

    What you bring
    • 5+ years in IT supporting multi-site retail, hospitality, or service environments, with a heavy POS component.
    • Deep familiarity with commercial POS platforms and the hardware, networking, and integrations behind them.
    • Experience leading or mentoring technical support staff.
    • Comfort managing vendors and troubleshooting across multiple parties.
    • Working knowledge of payment processing and PCI requirements.
    • The ability to juggle live support and project work without dropping either.
    • Willingness to travel to company locations as needed.
    • A degree in IT or computer science is preferred. Equivalent experience is fine.
