This is a strategic, hands-on leadership position responsible for ensuring our technology supports the company's continued growth while identifying new opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase profitability.The IT Manager will work closely with company leadership and departments across transportation, waste recovery, recycling, MRF operations and confidential document destruction.Responsibilities:Lead, manage and develop the IT department and establish department goals and prioritiesDevelop and execute IT strategies that support company-wide operational and financial goalsManage and improve technology supporting transportation, truck systems, MRF operations, recycling and data destructionIdentify and implement AI, automation and emerging technologies that improve efficiency, productivity, reporting, customer service and decision-makingEvaluate opportunities to use AI to reduce repetitive work, improve processes and provide better business insightsEstablish responsible AI, data security and technology-use practicesManage IT projects, budgets, vendors, contracts and technology investmentsPartner with senior leadership to evaluate technology costs, risks, benefits and return on investmentDevelop and maintain IT policies, procedures, security standards and data-management practicesLead multiple projects and priorities while providing hands-on technical and strategic supportEnsure IT operations comply with applicable company, state and federal requirementsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Technology or related field and/or 7+ years of relevant IT experience, or equivalent combination of education and experienceProven success using technology to improve financial and operational performanceStrong knowledge of IT systems supporting trucking, fleet operations, MRF/recycling and data destruction is highly desirableExperience with AI, automation and emerging technologies, with the ability to identify practical business applicationsExcellent analytical, problem-solving and strategic-planning skillsStrong leadership, communication and team-development abilitiesThorough understanding of data management, cybersecurity and confidentialityAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlinesStrong vendor-management and relationship-building skillsHigh level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detailAbility to communicate technical concepts effectively to both employees and company leadershipIT, cybersecurity, cloud or project-management certifications are welcomed but not requiredAbout Pellitteri Waste Systems, Inc.:Pellitteri Waste Systems, Inc. provides commercial and residential waste recovery systems, as well as confidential document destruction services at customer locations.
