The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking an IT Generalist who can train staff in standard work, plans/coordinates projects with IT managers & department personnel. Oversees the technical development, deployment, and maintenance of LANs and IT systems within the prison complex. Maintains mission-critical networks, installs, and configures end-user hardware/software and imaging. Troubleshoots complex network issues. Ensures all agency communication systems, including phone system, smartphones, radios, paging, ACJIS, CATV, IP/analog cameras, video conferencing, thin-client technologies, and IP telephony remain operational. Coordinates hardware installations, maintains voice and data lines (copper/fiber), resolves smartphone and ACJIS equipment issues, manages daily ServiceNow support tickets, maintains IT warehouse inventory, trains staff on AXIS camera installations, and supports work at an ancillary site.

- Performs systems analysis. Plans projects and implements based on project requirements
- Provides guidance, assistance, and training
- Installs, configures, and upgrades client workstation operating systems and applications
- Troubleshoots complex hardware and software problems in support of end-users
- Initiates and enforces network security via passwords, anti-virus software and intruder detection programs
- Reviews configuration change proposals for compliance to established standards (standard work), guidelines and policies
- Creates, modifies, moves and deletes user accounts in conjunction with customer services
- Plans, tests, and implements Local and Wide Area Network development specifications
- Prepares reports and develops implementation plans, attends training classes, seminars, and reads trade journals to keep abreast of current industry trends
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge of:

- Be self-motivated and perform duties unsupervised

- Network certification (i.e., Computing Technology Industry Association A+ Certification (CompTIA A+), or Microsoft Solution Expert Certification (MCSE)
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a networking environment and technical training covering data communications principles, electronics, and Local Area Networks or four (4) years on-the-job training in a networking environment
- Telecommunications environment with coursework in above areas

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test, and possibly a medical/physical examination.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
