    IT Field Van Driver

    The IT Van Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient transportation and delivery of IT hardware equipment to various locations. This role combines driving responsibilities with basic IT support functions, requiring a blend of technical skills, customer service, and logistical expertise.

    Deliveries:
    • The Driver makes deliveries and pick-ups from a number of offices split between the San Jose and Mountain View locations.
    • They will also need to update the management tools i.e., Hardware Request Tracker and Buganizer per delivery to ensure assets are properly tracked
    • The specifications of where to the delivered and when to be delivered will be notified to the Driver through On Job training.
    • Detailed hands-on will be provided to the Driver
    • Pick-up and delivery bins can be very heavy, so the Driver will need to be physically able to move bins upwards of 50 lbs alone.
    • Lifting assistance at the delivery locations is rarely available.
    Key Responsibilities:
    Transportation of IT Equipment:
    • Safely drive company vans to transport IT hardware equipment, including computers, peripherals, and other devices, to designated locations.
    • Ensure timely and secure delivery of equipment according to scheduled routes or as directed by the IT team.
    Hardware Support:
    • Assist in the installation, setup, and configuration of IT hardware equipment at client sites or within company premises.
    • Provide basic troubleshooting and technical support for hardware-related issues, including diagnosing and resolving common problems.
    • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including equipment received, dispatched, and returned.
    • Perform regular inventory checks to ensure adequate stock levels and report any discrepancies to the IT department.
    Customer Service:
    • Interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders during equipment deliveries and installations.
    • Address client inquiries and provide assistance in a courteous and helpful manner, ensuring a positive customer experience.
    Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while operating company vehicles.
    • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on vans to ensure they are in proper working condition.
    Qualifications:
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Previous experience in driving, preferably in a commercial or corporate setting (2 years +)
    • Basic understanding of IT hardware components and peripherals. (1 year +)
    • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
    • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment safely.
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Flexibility in working hours and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience in hardware support or technical roles.
    Familiarity with inventory management systems.
    Technical certifications related to IT hardware support.
