SAP Techno-Functional Solution Lead

Location: Hybrid – Columbus, OH (Arena District) or Merrillville, IN
Work Schedule: Monday & Friday – Remote | Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday – Onsite
Contract: 6 Months Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Techno-Functional Solution Lead to support SAP solution delivery, design, integration, testing, and deployment activities in a complex enterprise environment.

The role will focus heavily on techno-functional design, test-result reviews, best-practice recommendations, and fit-gap analysis to determine when standard SAP functionality can be used versus when customization is required.

The successful candidate will collaborate with NiSource teams, third-party vendors, and other workstreams to ensure SAP solutions are designed, integrated, tested, and delivered effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end SAP functional oversight for Meter-to-Cash (M2C) and Customer Service processes, including SAP S/4HANA Utilities and SAP Service Cloud.
• Oversee SAP application design, configuration, customization, and integration based on business requirements.
• Review and oversee RICEFW delivery, including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.
• Ensure SAP development and delivery activities remain aligned with overall program requirements.
• Guide unit, SIT, UAT, regression, and performance testing for SAP components.
• Review test cases and results using tools such as Jira and qTest.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers to support timely SAP delivery and integration.
• Support deployment, cutover, and hyper-care activities.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to NiSource operational teams and managed service providers.
• Ensure SAP security roles, access models, and compliance requirements are properly designed, implemented, and tested.
• Promote SAP-standard DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated unit testing, and static/dynamic security analysis.
• Facilitate collaboration across workstreams to ensure SAP solutions integrate effectively with systems such as identity and access management platforms.
• Establish and support SAP monitoring for error handling, performance, abnormal usage, and related areas.
• Participate in program governance, status reporting, risk management, and issue resolution.
• Identify opportunities to use SAP best practices and perform fit-gap analysis to determine whether customization is required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in SAP solution delivery, including design, configuration, development, and integration activities.
• Proven experience delivering SAP implementations in complex, multi-vendor enterprise environments.
• Strong functional knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP Service Cloud, SAP BTP, Fiori, and related SAP products.
• Experience in one or more specialized SAP areas such as FICA, Billing, Regulatory, or C4C.
• Experience with SAP integration technologies, including RESTful APIs and middleware platforms.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and code-quality tools.
• Strong understanding of SAP security models, SAP GRC Access Control, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with unit testing, SIT, UAT, regression, and performance testing.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. through U.S. citizenship or a Green Card.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• SAP certifications such as SAP Certified Associate or SAP Certified Professional.
• Experience in the utility or energy industry, particularly digital transformation programs.
• Experience integrating non-SAP technologies such as MuleSoft, API architectures, and IAM tools.
• Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Business Data Cloud.
• Experience with AI-powered SAP tools such as Joule.
• Understanding of regulatory, compliance, and customer data privacy requirements relevant to utilities.
• Experience with enterprise data migration and master data management in SAP environments.
• Knowledge of people enablement and change management related to SAP adoption.
• Experience with Jira, qTest, or similar project and test management tools.
