    Dynatrace Product Operations & Observability Specialist

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a Dynatrace Product Operations & Observability Specialist with 2–5 years of experience supporting Dynatrace and enterprise observability platforms. This role will focus on Dynatrace platform administration, application onboarding, monitoring and observability, incident troubleshooting, cloud monitoring, automation, and cross-platform integrations.

    The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Dynatrace, application performance monitoring (APM), Azure, ITSM/ServiceNow, network monitoring, and automation, along with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    Dynatrace Product Operations

    • Perform daily health checks of the Dynatrace SaaS tenant, ActiveGates, extensions, and integrations.
    • Administer Dynatrace user access, identity groups, management zones, service identities, and API-token ownership.
    • Manage Dynatrace configuration, including RBAC, tagging, dashboards, workflows, and environment settings.
    • Monitor Dynatrace consumption and identify unexpected telemetry growth.
    • Support cost attribution and recommend monitoring optimizations while maintaining required coverage.
    • Deploy and support OneAgent, Smartscape, Synthetics, and Real User Monitoring (RUM).
    • Build dashboards and KPIs aligned with business outcomes.
    • Maintain monitoring standards, event management processes, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.
    • Perform analytics and reporting on the Dynatrace platform.
    • Support platform upgrades and future Dynatrace adoption.
    • Manage vendor escalations with Dynatrace Support.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to customize Dynatrace solutions for application and infrastructure needs.

    Application Onboarding

    • Support onboarding of new applications into Dynatrace.
    • Validate monitoring requirements and acceptance criteria.
    • Assist application teams with instrumentation and monitoring design.
    • Verify ServiceNow routing and alert configurations before operational acceptance.

    Monitoring & Observability

    • Review and improve alert quality by addressing duplicate, noisy, unactionable, incorrectly scoped, or incorrectly routed Dynatrace Problems and notifications.
    • Support application performance monitoring (APM).
    • Perform anomaly detection and root cause analysis to assist technology teams.
    • Correlate performance data across application and infrastructure layers.

    Cross-Platform & Network Monitoring

    • Support approved Dynatrace integrations with infrastructure, cloud, network, and ITSM monitoring platforms.
    • Help integrate Dynatrace with network and infrastructure monitoring tools.
    • Collaborate with teams using network performance and flow tools.
    • Correlate telemetry across application, network, and infrastructure layers.

    Cloud & Automation

    • Administer and support approved Dynatrace monitoring for Azure-hosted applications, infrastructure, and platform services.
    • Use scripting and automation to improve repeatability, configuration quality, reporting, and operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with cloud and network teams on connectivity, access, and platform prerequisites.

    Incident & Operations Support

    • Diagnose Dynatrace product, collection, configuration, integration, and access issues.
    • Investigate OneAgent, ActiveGate, extension, synthetic-monitoring, and telemetry-collection failures.
    • Validate telemetry availability and freshness during incidents.
    • Use metrics, logs, traces, topology, events, and synthetic results to support technical investigations.
    • Partner with application, infrastructure, network, cloud, and ServiceNow teams to route issues to the appropriate team for resolution.
    • Document investigations, corrective actions, known gaps, and vendor escalations in applicable ITSM records.
    • Participate in problem management and continuous-improvement activities related to recurring failures, alert noise, routing issues, and monitoring blind spots.

    Required Qualifications

    • 2–5 years of experience with Dynatrace and observability.
    • Experience with incident response and troubleshooting.
    • Experience supporting enterprise monitoring platforms.
    • Strong understanding of observability concepts.
    • Experience with monitoring and Application Performance Monitoring (APM).
    • Experience with Azure and automation.
    • Experience with network monitoring tools.
    • ITSM experience; ServiceNow preferred.
    • Strong communication skills.

    Education & Certifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Relevant certifications are a plus, including:
      • Dynatrace
      • Azure
      • ITIL

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Dynatrace Associate Certification.
    • Experience working in enterprise environments.
    • Knowledge of infrastructure technologies.
    • Familiarity with multi-tool observability ecosystems.
    • Strong automation/DevOps mindset.
    • Ability to translate technical insights into business impact.
