Summary:
This role is responsible for leading day-to-day technology operations within a large, high-traffic venue environment. You’ll oversee IT infrastructure, technical services, and event-related technology, while managing a team and coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of events and ongoing operations.
What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)
- Lead daily IT and technical operations, including network performance, systems support, and AV services
- Manage and support a team of IT and technical staff, including scheduling, training, and performance oversight
- Ensure all technology systems are event-ready, including troubleshooting issues before, during, and after events
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver seamless event execution
- Oversee network infrastructure, cybersecurity practices, and compliance requirements
- Maintain and support hardware, software, and connectivity across the facility
- Act as a key point of contact during events, sometimes serving as the on-site decision maker
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and third-party service providers
- Support procurement processes, including sourcing equipment, reviewing bids, and managing budgets
- Monitor and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and reliability
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, maintenance plans, and emergency protocols
- Assist with documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Step into a leadership role in the absence of senior leadership when needed
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of IT leadership experience in a fast-paced, operational environment (events, venues, or similar preferred)
- Hands-on experience managing networks, systems, and end-user support
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Windows and Mac operating systems
- Microsoft 365
- Core infrastructure (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- Networking (routing, switching, wireless technologies)
- Experience overseeing vendors, contractors, and service providers
- Proven ability to lead teams, delegate work, and manage performance
- Experience supporting live operations where uptime and responsiveness are critical
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment
