New Exciting Opportunity for an IT & Cybersecurity Specialist in Hampton
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in IT and/or cybersecurity in a hands-on role
- Direct Experience with NIST SP 800-171 implementation
- Strong knowledge of network security and Windows environments
- Experience in DOD, defense supply chain or regulated environments
- Self-directed with ability to operate without direct staff
Job Duties:
- Lead implementation and sustainment of all 110 NIST SP 800-171 controls
- Develop and maintain: System Security Plan (SSP) Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M)
- Manage SPRS score and support CMMC Level 2 readiness
- Oversee IT security across network, endpoints, and data systems
- Implement MFA, access controls, patching, and vulnerability management
- Support design and deployment of a secure CUI enclave
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and lead assessments
- Establish incident response capability and manage cybersecurity risks
- Train employees in cybersecurity awareness and CUI handling
- Interface with customers, auditors, and external IT/security partners
