Assess and Redesign Electronic Lab Data Ingress Architecture — Conduct a thorough review of the existing Electronic Lab Data ingress architecture, identify performance bottlenecks and reusability gaps, and deliver an updated architecture design that improves throughput, reduces latency, and promotes modular, reusable integration patterns. Migrate All APIs to CloudHub 2.0 — Plan and execute the end-to-end migration of all MuleSoft APIs from the current deployment environment to CloudHub 2.0, ensuring minimal disruption to downstream consumers, validated functionality post-migration, and adherence to CloudHub 2.0 networking, deployment, and operational best practices.

Work Model: Hybrid - The candidate is required to attend all in-person meetings identified by the project teams. Currently, it is once every 2 weeks. But this can change based on the project requirements.
Compensation: $168-173k per year

POSITION OVERVIEW
The ideal candidate will have the MuleSoft integration and enterprise architecture skills specified below:

• Expertise in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API design, development, and deployment.
• Strong experience with API-led connectivity and the three-layer architecture (Experience, Process, System APIs).
• Proficiency in DataWeave 2.0 for data transformation and mapping across integration patterns.
• Experience designing and governing enterprise integration architectures and API standards.
• Knowledge of FIPS 140-3 compliance requirements and secure API development practices.
• Experience with CloudHub 2.0 deployment, networking, and operational best practices.
• Familiarity with JVM 17 compatibility requirements and API runtime upgrades.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across business and technical teams.
• Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and design modular, reusable integration patterns.
• Experience with integration security controls including OAuth 2.0, TLS/mTLS, and API policies.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent integration initiatives.
• Mentor and share MuleSoft and integration knowledge with State IT staff.
• Contributes to continuous improvement of integration patterns, reusability, and platform governance.
• Able to anticipate and resolve integration performance, latency, and throughput issues.
• Experience developing and managing migration plans and integration roadmaps at an enterprise scale.
• Experience with MUnit for automated API testing.
• Knowledge of Anypoint Monitoring, Visualizer, and API Analytics.

Day-to-Day responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Develop and Maintain Enterprise Architecture Artifacts — Design, document, and govern MuleSoft integration assets, including API design standards, data mapping and transformation guidelines, integration policies, security controls, and architectural position papers to ensure consistency and scalability across the enterprise.
• Assess and Redesign Electronic Lab Data Ingress Architecture — Conduct a thorough review of the existing Electronic Lab Data ingress architecture, identify performance bottlenecks and reusability gaps, and deliver an updated architecture design that improves throughput, reduces latency, and promotes modular, reusable integration patterns.
  • Update MuleSoft APIs for JVM 17 and FIPS 140-3 Compliance — Update MuleSoft APIs to be FIPS 140-3 Compliant and compatible with JVM 17 runtime requirements.
• Migrate All APIs to CloudHub 2.0 — Plan and execute the end-to-end migration of all MuleSoft APIs from the current deployment environment to CloudHub 2.0, ensuring minimal disruption to downstream consumers, validated functionality post-migration, and adherence to CloudHub 2.0 networking, deployment, and operational best practices.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, business analysts, and development teams to translate business requirements into integration solutions.
• Enforce MuleSoft API governance policies, versioning standards, and lifecycle management practices.
• Monitor integration performance metrics and proactively address throughput, latency, and reliability issues.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and integration specifications.
• Write and maintain MUnit test suites to ensure API correctness, resilience, and regression coverage.

WHAT’S NEEDED
4-year college degree or equivalent technical study.
3 to 5 years of MuleSoft integration development and enterprise architecture experience
3 years required experience developing MuleSoft integrations using Anypoint Platform
3 years required experience designing and implementing API-led connectivity solutions
3 years required experience with CloudHub or CloudHub 2.0 deployment and operations
3 years required experience with DataWeave 2.0 data transformation and mapping
2 years required experience working in an Agile/Scrum delivery environment
