    Schedule: Monday–Friday, generally 8: 00 a.M.–5: 00 p.M.

    About the Role

    A large healthcare organization is seeking Clinical Applications Engagement Specialists to support the implementation, testing, adoption, and optimization of electronic health record (EHR) systems and other clinical applications. This position combines clinical application support, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, training, data analysis, and workflow improvement.

    The specialist will work closely with clinical leaders, IT field services, application teams, informatics teams, end users, and external vendors to ensure that clinical technology effectively supports patient care and operational needs.







    Key Responsibilities



    •  Coordinate and lead projects involving new and existing clinical applications.
    •  Serve as a liaison among clinical stakeholders, operational leaders, application teams, informatics teams, IT field services, and external vendors.
    •  Identify conflicts or gaps between clinical workflows and EHR functionality, then recommend and help implement technology and workflow improvements.
    •  Lead application testing, solution evaluations, testing events, and implementation activities.
    •  Use system-usage data and workflow information to identify process-improvement opportunities.
    •  Track application adoption, performance, utilization, and opportunities for continued optimization.
    •  Develop action plans, staff assessments, training programs, user groups, and educational resources.
    •  Coach clinical users on the effective use of technology and promote adoption across large user groups.
    •  Apply knowledge of EHR functionality to quality measures, interoperability, and organization-wide initiatives.
    •  Lead cross-functional workgroups and independently manage assigned clinical application projects.
    •  Research healthcare IT trends, clinical practices, regulatory requirements, and EHR developments.
    •  Create and maintain documentation standards, procedures, and best practices.
    •  Mentor peers and serve as a subject matter expert in clinical applications and internal processes.




    Required Qualifications




    Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field, business discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

     Active clinical license in the applicable practicing state or a recognized certification within a clinical healthcare setting.

     At least five years of experience working in a complex healthcare environment.

     Experience with electronic health records and integrated clinical systems.

     Strong understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and information technology.

     Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar business applications.

     Strong project coordination, critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

     Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

     Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence users, and coordinate work across multiple teams.

     Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and frequent interruptions




    Preferred Qualifications

    Depending on the assigned area, one or more relevant healthcare licenses or certifications may be preferred:

     Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist

     Respiratory Therapist

     Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator

     Certified Protection Professional

     Associate in Risk Management

     Registered Health Information Administrator

     Registered Health Information Technician

     Certified Healthcare Facility Manager

     Certified Coding Specialist

     Certified Professional Coder

    Additional healthcare IT education, clinical application experience, or related professional experience is preferred.

    Additional Information

     This is an individual-contributor position with no direct reports.

     The specialist may provide peer leadership, training, coaching, and work direction.

     The position is performed in a hybrid office environment;the number of onsite days is to be confirmed.

     Hours may fluctuate during testing events, system implementations, or other critical project activities.

     Off-site travel may occasionally be required.

     On-call availability may be required during implementations or to support end users.

     Candidates must be comfortable with extensive computer and telephone use.

     The position may require lifting up to 20 pounds.

     Business-casual attire is expected.
