IT Business Analyst (Mid-Senior Level)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to serve as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams. This role is responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, identifying technology solutions, and ensuring successful delivery of strategic initiatives that drive operational efficiency and business value.
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, experience leading complex projects, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements. This individual will collaborate across departments, facilitate stakeholder discussions, and help shape technology strategies that support organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify opportunities for process improvement and technology enablement.
- Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews.
- Document and maintain business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, user stories, and use cases.
- Analyze current-state and future-state business processes, identifying gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop business cases and recommendations for technology investments and process enhancements.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor between business teams, IT departments, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication and alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Manage expectations and drive consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.
Project Delivery & Solution Implementation
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Product Owners, Developers, QA teams, and Solution Architects throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Ensure developed solutions meet business requirements and align with organizational goals.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts, including test planning, execution, and issue resolution.
- Assist with change management, training, and solution adoption activities.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze and interpret business and operational data to support decision-making.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and metrics to measure project outcomes and business performance.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data-driven analysis.
Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate existing systems and workflows to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Recommend best practices, process improvements, and automation opportunities.
- Contribute to business analysis standards, methodologies, and governance practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting technology initiatives.
- Proven experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience working with Agile and/or Scrum methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience creating process maps, workflows, and business documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of Business Analysis experience within enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting ERP, CRM, HRIS, Finance, or other enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of SQL and data analysis tools.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio, Lucidchart, or Microsoft Power Platform.
- Exposure to cloud technologies and digital transformation initiatives.
- CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Agile, Scrum, or Lean Six Sigma certifications.
- Experience leading enterprise-wide system implementations or process transformation projects.
