IT Audit Contractor
Location: Palo Alto, CA
Contract: 6-month contract with potential extension
Compensation: $95.05/hr W2
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced IT Audit Contractor to support a SOX compliance program within a fast-paced technology environment. This position will focus heavily on IT General Controls (ITGCs), IT Application Controls (ITACs), IT risk assessments, control testing, and audit documentation. The ideal candidate has a strong Big 4, consulting, or internal audit background and can independently manage multiple audit workstreams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform SOX ITGC testing across logical access, change management, computer operations, and SDLC.
- Design and execute ITAC testing across key financial systems.
- Assess IT risks associated with new systems and emerging technologies, including AI tools.
- Review identity and access management controls, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and user access reviews.
- Perform key report testing for completeness, accuracy, logic, and parameters.
- Participate in system and control walkthroughs with IT and business stakeholders.
- Identify control gaps and track deficiencies through remediation and closure.
- Prepare and maintain high-quality, audit-ready work papers.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Support process improvements and additional internal audit projects as needed.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of IT audit experience within Big 4, consulting, or an internal audit function.
- Strong hands-on experience with SOX ITGC and ITAC testing.

- Experience assessing risks associated with AI tools or new technology systems
- Identity governance / access management experience
- AuditBoard or similar GRC platform experience
- Familiarity with COSO and AI governance frameworks
- Quote-to-Cash process exposure
- Lucidchart or similar process/data flow diagram experience
- CISA, CISSP, or equivalent certification
