ROLE OVERVIEW:
- In this compelling leadership position, you will lead efforts examining and analyzing every aspect of the IT environment. Focused on cutting-edge cloud services, our audits cover a broad range of exciting technologies, providing a challenging environment with tremendous opportunities for personal growth.
- Within IT Audit, the infrastructure team focuses on evaluating complex environments of IT processes, systems, and services. We conduct audits focused on highly visible topics, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), cyber security, IT Governance, resiliency, and the management of various operating systems and platforms. In this position, you will take ownership over audits and reviews, setting direction and being hands-on throughout planning, executing, and reporting while coaching and mentoring team members.
LOCATION: Washington, DC or Reston, VA (Hybrid: at least 3 days/week in office).

- Audit Leadership & Oversight: Apply specialized technical expertise to direct and oversee audits in complex areas, such as AI, cyber security, resiliency, and cloud infrastructure environments.
- Risk Assessment & Planning: Identify risks and assess their potential impact to develop and adjust audit plans. Participate in annual planning focusing on top current and emerging IT risks.
- Project Management & Mentorship: Provide day-to-day project management oversight, direction, and coaching to other IT Auditors. Develop innovative test approaches and review work.
- Hands-on Testing: Conduct testing of highly complex technical topics with autonomy and a keen focus on high-risk areas.
- Insights & Innovation: Create regular points of view on top risks (AI, cyber, resiliency) and inspire team members to innovate new ways of working and generating meaningful insights.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with business partners, providing advice and sharing Internal Audit knowledge with managers and staff.
- Data Analytics & AI Integration: Ideate innovative ways of using data analytics, automation, and AI to perform testing while helping junior staff develop related skills.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Required Experiences & Skills:

- Experience: 8+ years of experience in IT Audit, IT Risk Management, or Information Security.
- Technical Knowledge: Expert knowledge of cyber security, artificial intelligence, or cloud infrastructure technologies (e.g., Amazon Web Services).
- Core Competencies: Strong project management skills, critical thinking, adaptability, and prior experience coaching/providing feedback to audit staff.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak to technical experts in their technical languages.
- Data Analytics Skills:
- Strong skills in identifying, designing, and implementing visualizations of various data sets.
- Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn).
- Coding skills and experience with data analytics-related languages, such as Python (including SciPy, NumPy, and/or PySpark).
- AI Skills:
- Experience using AI solutions to increase effectiveness and efficiency in day-to-day audit execution.
- Demonstrated work auditing AI solutions and related risks.
- Knowledge of agentic AI architectures and risks.
Desired Experience & Education:
- 10+ years of experience in IT Audit, IT Risk Management, or Information Security (with at least 5+ years specifically in IT Audit).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree or MBA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications: One or more of CISA, CISSP, CEH, CRISC, or CISM.
First 90 120 Day Goals:
- Rapidly learn the business and enterprise technology landscape for auditing purposes (AI, Cloud, and Cyber).
