Role Overview
We are seeking an IT Asset Management & Logistics Technician to support an IT stockroom and hardware logistics operation onsite in Tarrytown, NY. This role is hands-on and focused on receiving, organizing, tracking, shipping, and managing IT equipment throughout its lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have experience with IT inventory and asset tracking systems, stockroom or warehouse operations, and equipment handling in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the IT stockroom and ensure equipment is organized, stored, and accounted for
- Receive incoming hardware shipments and verify items against packing documentation
- Process IT hardware requests and prepare equipment for deployment or distribution
- Ship equipment to users, vendors, other company locations, and repair/disposition facilities
- Maintain accurate asset and inventory records in the applicable asset management system
- Update asset status, location, assignment, and other inventory details as equipment moves through its lifecycle
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory replenishment and stock organization
- Perform physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records
- Prepare, package, and label equipment for shipment
- Break down incoming pallets and larger equipment shipments
- Support equipment returns, recoveries, repairs, redeployments, and disposition processes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure stockroom environment
- Coordinate with IT support teams, Asset Management, vendors, and end users as needed
Must-Have Experience
- Experience with IT inventory and asset tracking systems
- Experience in an IT stockroom or warehouse environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience receiving, organizing, and verifying incoming hardware shipments
- Experience preparing, packaging, and shipping IT equipment
- Experience handling equipment returns, repairs, redeployments, and disposals
- Ability to maintain accurate asset records as equipment moves through its lifecycle
- Comfortable working in a hands-on logistics environment
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment, boxes, packages, and larger shipments when needed
Additional Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical certification or associate degree may be preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in a related area is preferred
