Job Title: IT Asset Management Analyst - ServiceNow & Hardware Lifecycle

Location: New York, NY (100% Onsite)

Hours: 37.5/week (required 4 weeks unpaid vacation)

Duration: 12+ Month Contract, likely extension

Pay range: $32-$35/hr (W2), depending on experience

Interview: Could be onsite in New York, NY or remote via Teams (up to hiring manager). Likely 1-2 rounds of interviews

Our Government client located in New York, NY is seeking an IT Asset Management Analyst - ServiceNow & Hardware Lifecycle to support enterprise IT Asset Management operations and State of Good Repair (SOGR) technology lifecycle initiatives.

This is a hands-on asset management position responsible for helping maintain accurate hardware inventories across multiple locations, validating asset information, reconciling physical inventory against system records, and ensuring IT asset data is accurately maintained within ServiceNow.

The analyst will track computer hardware and related technology assets throughout their lifecycle, coordinate with IT field teams and end users, support large-scale deployment and recovery initiatives, and generate reporting for compliance, audits, and management oversight. The ideal candidate combines strong attention to detail with experience in IT asset management, hardware inventory, logistics, and enterprise asset tracking.

Key Responsibilities

IT Asset Management & Lifecycle Tracking

  • Track computers and related IT hardware throughout the complete asset lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate asset information within ServiceNow and other asset management systems.
  • Monitor asset deployment, assignment, transfer, recovery, replacement, and retirement activities.
  • Support State of Good Repair (SOGR) lifecycle and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Coordinate asset activities across multiple offices and operating locations.
  • Partner with IT field teams and end users to validate asset assignments and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support large-scale hardware deployment and recovery initiatives.

Hardware Inventory & Reconciliation

  • Conduct and support physical hardware inventory validation across multiple locations.
  • Compare physical inventory against ServiceNow and existing asset database records.
  • Research and resolve missing, duplicate, inaccurate, or incomplete asset information.
  • Maintain accurate hardware information, including device models, part information, locations, assignments, and lifecycle status.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation and data-quality initiatives.
  • Ensure asset records remain complete, consistent, and audit-ready.

ServiceNow & Asset Data Management

  • Create, review, update, and validate IT asset records within ServiceNow.
  • Research new hardware models, device information, and part standards to support accurate asset classification.
  • Assist with implementation or enhancement of new asset management tools, systems, and modules.
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset data accuracy and system usage.
  • Support ongoing maintenance and quality control of enterprise asset information.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Review existing IT Asset Management processes and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset tracking, inventory reconciliation, lifecycle management, and data quality.
  • Help refine and document asset management procedures and standards.
  • Coordinate with technical, logistics, and operational teams to improve asset management workflows.
  • Support implementation of new processes associated with asset lifecycle initiatives.

Reporting, Audit & Compliance Support

  • Generate scheduled and ad hoc asset management reports.
  • Prepare inventory and lifecycle information for compliance reviews and audits.
  • Provide asset data and reporting to support management and executive oversight.
  • Research discrepancies and assist with audit remediation activities.
  • Ensure asset records and supporting documentation meet organizational standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years of logistics, inventory management, IT asset management, or related experience.
  • 1-2+ years of desktop engineering, desktop support, or comparable hands-on IT hardware experience.
  • 1-2+ years of experience working with operating system hardware and software.
  • Experience tracking physical inventory, equipment, or technology assets.
  • Understanding of computer hardware and related IT equipment.
  • Experience coordinating equipment deployment, movement, recovery, or inventory activities.
  • Ability to accurately reconcile physical inventory against system records.
  • Strong analytical and data-quality skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage high-volume asset information accurately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with IT teams, end users, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work onsite as required.
