Job Profile: Project Controls SpecialistReports To: Project Manager – Insulation/Heat TraceCompany OverviewISO Services is a 40+ year old industrial service and construction company providing all disciplines of industrial maintenance and construction. We are a division of Ergon Construction Group, an Ergon, Inc. company. Our services include soft craft (insulation, fireproofing, painting/coatings, scaffolding & heat tracing) and mechanical trades.Position Overview:The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for assisting the project manager in planning and oversight of various construction projects from start to finish. Those duties include (but are not limited to) clarifying scopes of work, estimating and writing proposals, building project schedules, procuring materials and equipment, tracking progress, managing change, and driving gross profit. The Project Controls Specialist is a result driven, problem solving, strategic business partner who best represents ISO Services by understanding the needs of the customer and implementing strategies to exceed their expectations.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Adopt and promote our safety culture.Maintain the ISO Services organizational reputation in a positive light with customers and community.Promote and embody Ergon's core values: empowered services, purposeful growth, respectful relationships, selfless leadership.Consistently focus on external customer relationships and internal relationships with supervision and field personnel.Assist project manager by attending job walks, site visits, safety meetings and other plant related meetings as needed.Assist project manager with estimates by generating take-offs from ISO's, drawings, and other information contained in RFQ's.Assist project manager with writing and submitting proposals as needed.Document and communicate change throughout the life cycle of a project.Analyze job productivity data and drive responses to that data that optimize financial and schedule performance.Maintain a focus on accurate and up-to-date contract values and estimated cost to complete in Sage informed by production data and change.Coordinate, plan, and manage schedules for subcontractors as required.Provide internal reporting and projections to management team and keep them fully informed on all aspects of project performance.Other tasks as directed by the Project Manager.Educational Requirements:Bachelor's Degree (Construction Management / Engineering) OR in lieu of a degree:5 years experience in industrial construction with minimum 2 years experience in a project management or project controls position.Applicable Experience & Competencies:Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
