The Department is accepting applications for Police Officer Florida Certified Law Enforcement Officers and Police Cadet Full Academy Sponsorship Program -or- Equivalency of Training Academy Sponsorship for out-of-state Certified Law Enforcement Officer.
Certified Police Officer candidates may be eligible for a new hire incentive payment and a higher pay grade for prior law enforcement experience. This position requires supplemental application information and documents. Applicants will only be considered after submitting required documents.

To Qualify
Qualified applicants must possess and maintain a State of Florida Class E Driver License, be at least 19 years of age, meet the education requirement of 45 semester hours for full academy sponsorship, 60 semester hours for Out-of-State and Florida Certified law enforcement officers, or the requirements for exemption of college hours based on three (3) years of military or two (2) years of sworn law enforcement experience, and must meet all criteria of the Citys current Selection Standards for Police Officer Positions.
