    Job Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for timely preparing and replying to IPRA requests. This role is comprehensive, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities related to maintaining and improving business operations within University General Counsel. Position requires independent judgment to make decisions on matters of significance ensuring compliance with the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act. Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and redacting documents, attaching appropriate documentation and timely sending a completion email to the requestor. Effective analytical skills and a strong understanding of business processes, including IPRA laws and related decision making, are critical for success in this position. Select duties include:- Compliance and Reporting- Analysis, Communication and Collaboration. Performs other related duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience: 
    Associate's degree + 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree.

    Equivalent Qualifications: 
    Paralegal certificate and one year of relevant experience, or a combination of relevant education and experience as may be approved by HR.

    Preferred Qualifications: 
    At least one year of experience in responding to public records requests or litigation records production

    Working Conditions and Physical Effort

    Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

    Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required.

    Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.

    Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
