    Description

    Our client is seeking a mid-level to senior associate or counsel to join its Intellectual Property & Technology practice. This is an opportunity for an experienced technology and privacy attorney to advise a diverse client base on complex commercial, data security, and emerging technology matters in a practical, business-oriented manner.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technology transactions and privacy law, along with the ability to serve as a trusted, embedded advisor to clients ranging from emerging growth companies to established brands in the software, media, entertainment, and consumer products sectors.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Advise clients on privacy, data security, and emerging technology matters
    • Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including software licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, terms of use, privacy policies, technology development and services agreements, AI data licenses, master service agreements (MSAs), and data processing agreements
    • Counsel clients on compliance with privacy laws and frameworks, including CCPA and GDPR
    • Advise on legal issues related to CIPA and similar claims
    • Provide guidance on legal issues surrounding artificial intelligence, generative AI tools, and digital assets
    • Communicate complex legal concepts in clear, practical, and accessible terms for clients
    • Serve as a solutions-oriented, embedded advisor to clients across a range of industries
    • Participate in business generation and marketing efforts

    Qualifications

    • Substantial experience advising clients on privacy and data security matters and technology transactions
    • Significant experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology-driven agreements
    • Familiarity with legal issues surrounding artificial intelligence, generative AI, and digital assets
    • Experience counseling clients on compliance with privacy laws and frameworks, including CCPA and GDPR
    • Experience navigating CIPA and similar claims strongly preferred
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business guidance
    • Portable business is a plus but not required
    • Demonstrated interest in business development and client relationship management
