Job Description Summary

The IP Security and Risk Leader works in Gas Power Engineering's Systems Technologies and Adaptive Intelligence (STAI) group, championing and driving the integration of robust risk management protocols for database, AI, design, and other pillar tool solutions. The leader will serve as a key contact for executive leadership and will be responsible for defining and refining policies for IP, AI security, and risk, ensuring these standards are seamlessly integrated into our engineering tool ecosystem. The role will involve navigating matrixed environments to influence stakeholders, mentor teams, and proactively protect our assets against emerging AI-driven threats. By leveraging deep expertise in IP protection and regulatory compliance, the IP Security and Risk Leader will establish critical KPIs and deliver data-driven insights that ensure our engineering tools remain both secure and highly productive. Role coverage extends beyond STAI tool ownership, providing key critical input to the IP Council and GEV Foundry where strategic synergies may provide opportunities across Gas Power and other GE Vernova business units.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead Risk Management activities for Gas Power Engineering tools, acting as a single point of contact for Senior Executive Leadership on IP and Security coverage
• Own high-level procedures and policies for AI Security, IP, and Risk in Engineering tools, synergizing to corporate and business segment policies, proactively defining and refining standards, and ensuring best practices are established for re-use in applications
• Establish Risk Quantification method(s) for integration in tool development intake processes
• Execute projects of high complexity, while reaching across teams and businesses to ensure alignment and agreement.
• Work with tool owners to identify security gaps and their impact, propose appropriate actions, and support their adoption of new cyber controls.
• Lead the AI team towards developing / implementing solutions to comply with GE Vernova's requirements for secure applications
• Prepare executive-ready updates on IP, Security, and Risk strategy, serving as contributor to annual and multi-year breakthrough objectives planning and system level vision.
• Connect with IP Council, compliance and regulatory SME's, Digital Technology, GEV Foundry, and peers of similar domains across the business to synchronize and influence changes in application controls that are optimized for IP protection and risk mitigation.
• Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long-range engineering needs for risk management, with particular emphasis on proactive enterprise protection from AI-driven threats.
• Participate in lean events, including facilitation, coaching, and leading continuous improvement activities, such as with Kaizen workshops.
• Support problem solving for AI-based tool risks by analyzing data, observing processes, researching industry knowledge, and conversing with AI-focused team members.
• Develop and maintain metrics to measure effectiveness of application security, including audits, as well as owning and/or directly supporting multiple Engineering Level KPIs
• Train, coach, and mentor STAI and other business teams about security requirements
• Take on assignments beyond position scope, as requested or required

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum 8 years of combined experience in Engineering/Technology & Engineering Software Tools, preferably in a Technical Leader or equivalent Senior Engineering role with risk management coverage.
• This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Characteristics

• Familiar with current-state Artificial Intelligence technology, including Generative AI, Quantitative Machine Learning, and ComputerVision.

• Solid expertise in domains of GE Vernova's Intellectual Property Protection, Privacy, and Export Control Regulation policies.

• Demonstrated capability and passion for leadership, including within a matrix-based, global engineering team.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
