Our client is a well-established, full-service regional law firm with a respected intellectual property practice. The Firm's IP group handles the full lifecycle of brand protection, from clearance and prosecution through licensing, enforcement, and trial, giving its litigators a deep bench and a steady pipeline of sophisticated trademark and copyright matters. The Firm is seeking a partner-level IP litigation attorney to join its New York team and take a lead role in trying cases.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support teams of IP litigators in federal court matters, including depositions, trial preparation, and trial
• Handle opposition and cancellation proceedings before the USPTO's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board
• Prepare trademark clearance opinions and prosecute trademark and copyright applications
• Draft and negotiate coexistence agreements and license agreements
• Serve as a senior resource within the IP group, working both independently and as part of the team

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in commercial litigation and intellectual property matters, with a concentration in trademark litigation
Experience with opposition and cancellation proceedings before the USPTO
Admission to the New York bar and to the federal courts in New York
New York State court experience (required)
First-chair trial experience (strongly preferred)
Exceptional writing and communication skills
