The Pharmacy Inventory Specialist manages the daily inventory requirements of the department. This person will assist and provide leadership with the management of any inventory issue including, but not limited to: ordering, receiving, transferring, automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) management, repackaging management, and controlled substances management. This employee will assist pharmacists and the pharmacy department team with providing medication services and pharmaceutical care to patients and other departments throughout the health system.
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Six years of related experience. Requires advanced knowledge of highly specialized systems and procedures.
Licenses & Certifications
*Certified Pharmacy Technician
*Georgia Registered Pharmacy Tech
Qualifications
*Ability to interact and work well as part of a team oriented environment.
*Ability to work well in high volume, high stress situations.
*Adapts positively to changes in workload and/or work schedule.
*Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office are required.
*Experience or training in materials/inventory management preferred.
*Must exhibit leadership skills of being a good listener, being a good communicator, having the ability to make sound decisions, and being a good problem solver.
*Must meet all requirements as outlined in the Pharmacy Technician Clinical Ladder policy and procedure.
*Requires completion of a written and practical competency examination.
