    Description

    The candidate should have practical, hands-on experience in inventory, warehouse, materials, or distribution operations, with demonstrated ability in:
    • Inventory Control
      • Receiving, counting, organizing, and tracking inventory
      • Maintaining accurate inventory quantities
      • Performing cycle counts and investigating discrepancies
      • Understanding the importance of inventory accuracy
      • Identifying shortages, overages, damaged material, and inventory discrepancies
    • Pick & Pack
      • Experience picking material/products from inventory based on orders, work orders, or pick lists
      • Packing and preparing material for shipment or delivery
      • Verifying quantities and part numbers before material leaves inventory
      • Ability to work accurately while maintaining reasonable productivity
    • Returns / Material Coming Back from the Field
      • Experience receiving products or materials back from customers, jobsites, technicians, drivers, or field personnel
      • Inspecting returned material
      • Determining whether material is reusable, damaged, incomplete, or requires further disposition
      • Properly documenting returned material
    • Return-to-Stock
      • Experience putting returned or unused material back into inventory
      • Verifying the correct item and quantity
      • Returning material to the proper inventory location
      • Updating the inventory system so physical inventory matches system inventory
    • Materials Management Systems
      • Functional experience using an inventory, warehouse, ERP, WMS, or materials-management system
      • Ability to enter, retrieve, and update inventory information
      • Comfortable learning a new inventory management system
      • Understanding that physical inventory and system inventory must remain synchronized
    • Spreadsheets / Computer Skills
      • Basic-to-intermediate Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet experience
      • Ability to enter, sort, filter, and organize data
      • Comfortable working with inventory lists and reports
      • Ability to identify discrepancies or unusual inventory information
    Physical / Operational Requirements
    Because this is a working inventory position, the candidate should be comfortable with:
    • Working on their feet for extended periods
    • Repeated walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and moving material
    • Working in a warehouse/fabrication environment
    • Safely handling a variety of materials
    • Using pallet jacks, carts, forklifts, or similar material-handling equipment or be willing to learn
    • Working in an environment where priorities can change throughout the day
