Job Title: Maintenance Inventory Specialist
Location: Minden, NV
Job Type: 12 month contract with on-going need, W2
Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week
Schedule: On-site, 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday
Pay Range: $25 per hour
Job Description:
Position Summary
The Maintenance Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing maintenance spare parts inventory, procurement activities, and inventory accuracy to support facility and equipment reliability. This role serves as a key liaison with suppliers, maintenance teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure critical parts and supplies are available when needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, inventory management experience, and the ability to maintain accurate records in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage procurement activities for maintenance-related inventory, spare parts, tools, and supplies.
Order and replenish inventory to ensure parts availability for active maintenance and repair requests.
Maintain accurate inventory records through routine cycle counting and inventory audits.
Organize and manage spare parts inventory within limited storage space, ensuring efficient accessibility and utilization.
Interface with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, service, pricing, and delivery expectations are met.
Develop and maintain positive supplier relationships while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Track and manage company credit card transactions, expense reporting, and purchasing documentation.
Coordinate travel arrangements, including transportation, lodging, and itineraries for maintenance personnel as needed.
Oversee tool inventory and ensure compliance with calibration requirements.
Manage and track forklift certification records and renewal requirements.
Support preventive and predictive maintenance efforts by ensuring necessary parts and resources are available.
Maintain inventory documentation and maintenance records within maintenance management systems.
Perform housekeeping and organizational activities to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and leadership teams to support equipment uptime and reliability objectives.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management, procurement, maintenance support, storeroom operations, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage inventory in limited storage space.
Experience maintaining inventory records and performing cycle counts.
Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Experience managing purchase transactions, expense reporting, or procurement activities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), particularly Maintenance Connection (Accruent).
Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
Experience supporting maintenance operations in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
Familiarity with tool calibration programs and compliance tracking.
Knowledge of inventory control best practices and spare parts management.
