Description

Job Title: Inventory & Production Manager
Location: Hanover, MD 21076 (onsite)
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00


Responsibilities

  • Review finished goods inventory and less-than-minimum reports to produce batch tickets based on suggested inventory levels and equipment limitations.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of raw materials and packaging supplies, negotiating prices with approved suppliers, and ordering materials based on needs and lead times.
  • Work with the sales team to manage inventory levels and coordinate product availability.
  • Perform all purchasing tasks, manage inventory, ensure quality control, and ensure timely shipment of products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, seeking new or alternative suppliers as needed.
  • Maintain accuracy of purchase order data, including items, quantities, due dates, and close all purchase orders from receiving, special instructions, and terms.
  • Review purchase orders and resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with accounting and vendors.
  • Handle returned purchased items that do not meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to determine production schedules and communicate lead times to customer service.
  • Monitor weekly purchase orders and pursue cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure vendor compliance and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain regulatory and compliance standards, and ensure inventory integrity and accuracy.
  • Coordinate inbound shipments, verifying counts and system receipt within 24 hours.
  • Manage customer price lists, update pricing as needed, and communicate changes.
  • Establish and encourage accountability within the team regarding inventory management.
Requirements
  • Strong people skills and positive attitude.
  • Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
  • Inventory and purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (5 years preferred).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Hands-on experience working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in an advanced ERP system, specifically Datacor.
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) through APICS is beneficial.
