Akkodis is seeking an Inventory Management Specialist for a Contract job with a client in Palm Bay, FL. The ideal candidate will have experience in transportation operations, freight billing, logistics coordination, inventory management, and government shipping compliance, along with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Rate Range: $23/hour to $27/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Inventory Management Specialist Job Responsibilities Include:
Review, validate, process, and reconcile freight invoices by ensuring proper allocation codes, cost center assignments, supporting documentation, and timely submission for payment.
Research and resolve freight billing discrepancies by coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders, accounting teams, program finance teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate cost allocation and invoice processing.
Utilize business intelligence and reporting tools to analyze freight costs, prepare transportation reports, support cost tracking activities, and provide detailed freight charge information to business partners.
Coordinate domestic and international transportation activities, support export documentation requirements, process shipping transactions, and ensure compliance with government, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain transportation records, monitor shipment activity, support customer deliveries, prepare logistics reports, and ensure accurate tracking of material movement throughout the supply chain.
Support receiving, stockroom, packaging, inventory control, and material handling activities as needed while contributing to process improvements, operational efficiencies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Desired Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of six years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight operations, supply chain management, or related operational disciplines, or an Associate Degree with a minimum of two years of related experience.
Strong experience processing freight invoices, managing transportation costs, supporting freight payment activities, and performing financial analysis related to shipping and logistics operations.
Demonstrated knowledge of domestic and international transportation processes, freight management practices, shipping documentation, and logistics compliance requirements.
Experience working with transportation systems, inventory systems, ERP platforms, supply chain applications, or related business systems used to support logistics operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience processing government shipments using WAWF, EASE, ETA (FAST/SIR), Government Bill of Lading (GBL), or similar government transportation systems.
Experience preparing export documentation, filing Electronic Export Information (EEI), and supporting import/export compliance activities within regulated environments.
Experience utilizing business intelligence tools, reporting systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities to support logistics analysis and decision-making.
Knowledge of MRP systems, material management processes, Agile Product Data Management (PDM), inventory control systems, and supply chain operations.
Current or previous Dangerous Goods by Air certification, logistics certification, or related transportation compliance credentials are considered highly desirable.
This position requires the use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Pay Details: $23.00 to $27.00 per hour
