Job Description:
Responsible for performing physical and administrative tasks related to receiving, stockroom management, shipping, packaging, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. This role ensures the accurate receipt, verification, storage, and shipment of all incoming and outgoing materials while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with company procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
The ideal candidate will support day-to-day operations through receiving stockroom, shipping, and packaging functions, demonstrating strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
Receive, unpack, count, and verify all incoming materials against purchase orders or invoices, ensuring conformance to stated identifications
Inspect incoming materials for non-conformance per company procedures and report any discrepancies or damages to management immediately
Maintain accurate records of received goods, including processing of freight bills, packing sheets, and related documentation
Stockroom
Organize and maintain stockroom inventory in accordance with company procedures to ensure accuracy and accessibility
Pick and issue material to internal and external customers in a timely and accurate manner
Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory verification to maintain inventory accuracy
Report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to management promptly
Shipping & Packaging
Perform shipping, distribution, and packaging of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment
Determine routing and carrier arrangements for shipments based on item characteristics, urgency, and cost, selecting the most economical and efficient options
Calculate and record applicable shipping charges, reroute urgent shipments, and arrange special deliveries as needed
Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation and track shipments using a Product Tracking System
May perform wood shop functions such as building skids and crates for packaging and shipment purposes
General
Track all production and non-production material using a Product Tracking System
Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts) upon certification
Safely handle, transfer, and transport chemicals in accordance with the Hazardous Chemical Guidebook and safety guidelines
Ensure compliance with all material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve straightforward discrepancies, escalating issues to management as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment always
Support other areas of the business as needed to meet operational demands
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent with 0–4 years of prior related experience, or an associate’s degree with 0–2 years of prior related experience
Prior experience in receiving, stockroom, inventory control, distribution, transportation, or logistics environment preferred
Education & Experience:
Requires minimal job knowledge/skills.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior related experience.
