Inventory & Logistics Specialist

 

Position Summary

 

The Inventory & Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate material availability, inventory control, and efficient logistics operations to support manufacturing and production activities. This role works cross-functionally with planning, production, and quality teams to proactively manage material flow, resolve discrepancies, and maintain organized, audit-ready inventory systems.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

 

Inventory Management & Material Availability

  • Monitor inventory levels and material requirements to ensure readiness for scheduled production builds
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential material shortages or constraints
  • Maintain accurate inventory records across systems and perform routine reconciliations
  • Manage raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory

Systems & Data Accuracy

  • Monitor and maintain alignment between inventory systems (e.g., ERP/MES platforms)
  • Investigate discrepancies and escalate issues as needed to ensure data integrity
  • Maintain system parameters such as minimum stock levels and replenishment triggers
  • Support integration and continuous improvement of inventory tracking processes

Logistics & Material Flow

  • Coordinate movement of materials between internal departments and external partners
  • Organize and manage material flow on the production floor to support efficiency
  • Oversee storage locations, bin management, and material staging processes
  • Support outbound and inbound logistics activities as required

Production Support

  • Collaborate with planning teams to ensure timely material availability
  • Manage specialized inventory categories (e.g., critical components, wafers, or subassemblies)
  • Support production readiness through material preparation and allocation
  • Assist with returns, material holds, and release updates

Process Improvement & Organization

  • Drive workplace organization and inventory control through 5S and lean principles
  • Participate in process automation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with inventory audit requirements and support regular cycle counts
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and material handling processes
Qualifications:

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in inventory management, logistics, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with ERP and/or MES systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with multiple teams
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S) is a plus

Preferred Skills

  • Data analysis and reporting experience
  • Experience supporting high-mix or high-tech manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of inventory control best practices and audit processes

 

Pay Range:

 

USD $72,140.00 - USD $120,230.00 Year

 

 Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region
