The Inventory Manager / Fleet Salesperson is responsible for overseeing the dealership's new and used vehicle inventory while developing and maintaining fleet sales relationships with commercial, government, and business customers. This position ensures inventory is accurately managed from acquisition through retail sale while providing exceptional customer service throughout the fleet sales process. The Inventory Manager / Fleet Salesperson works closely with the General Manager, Sales Managers, Finance Department, and manufacturer representatives to maximize inventory efficiency and achieve fleet sales objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inventory Management - Manage the dealership's new and used vehicle inventory.
- Monitor incoming vehicle allocations, shipments, and arrivals.
- Ensure vehicles are properly stocked, inventoried, and available for sale.
- Coordinate vehicle trades with other dealerships as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the dealership management system.
- Verify vehicle pricing, options, incentives, and inventory status.
- Conduct routine inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Work with Sales Managers to maintain appropriate inventory levels based on customer demand and manufacturer allocations.
- Coordinate vehicle movement between dealership locations, storage facilities, and display areas.
- Ensure vehicles are properly merchandised and displayed on the lot.
- Assist with aging inventory management and inventory turn objectives.
Fleet Sales - Develop and maintain relationships with commercial, government, municipal, and business fleet customers.
- Identify and pursue new fleet sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, and customer referrals.
- Prepare fleet quotes, proposals, and bids.
- Guide fleet customers through the sales process from initial inquiry through vehicle delivery.
- Coordinate fleet orders with manufacturers and monitor order status.
- Ensure all fleet sales documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with dealership and manufacturer requirements.
- Follow up with fleet customers to maintain long-term business relationships and encourage repeat business.
- Stay informed on fleet incentives, manufacturer programs, and industry trends.
Administrative Responsibilities - Maintain accurate customer and inventory records.
- Prepare reports regarding inventory levels, fleet activity, and sales performance.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Parts, and Service departments to ensure efficient vehicle processing and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with dealership projects and other duties as assigned by management.
